Riverfront lawns need a lighter hand.
On Long Island and along the Rideau River, lawns run down toward the water. We keep fertilizer well back from the shoreline and blow clippings away from the bank, so nothing we put down washes into the river.
Rideau Forest lots are often an acre or more, much of it wooded. We mow the open lawn with wider equipment and trim along the tree line by hand. Properties like these are priced from the lot rather than the table, which is how lawn care Manotick acreage gets stays fair.
Closer to Manotick Main Street and in Mahogany, lots are more like the suburbs and fit our standard sizes. Those homes get the same weekly day and per-cut price for lawn mowing as anywhere inside our circle.
