TLDR: Hired BlueGuard to clean the clogged exit vent. They did not clean it properly. The exit vent is still completely clogged, unusable and would only refund me 50% ($170!).
Context: My dryer has been showing "Airway blocked" errors. I own a vent cleaning kit, but I can't reach the exit mesh because the vent terminates on the roof. That roof exit was the main reason I contacted this company. I was quoted for a full dryer vent cleaning, from the dryer all the way to the roof exit, including testing the vent afterward for $299+tax.
Techs came to my home, argued with me on where my vent exit is. I explained to him that I hired a contractor to redirect the dryer vent to the roof instead of where the soffit is due to freezing in winter. He didn't believe me, he said that it was not on the roof, he went in my attic and told me there are no vent pipes going to the roof. I had to climb in the attic myself to show him where it is.
He then said he could clean both ends from the attic, never went on the roof, cleaned from the attic, took payment, and left.
The dryer is still showing the same "Airway blocked" error. Now that I know that I could access the roof exit through the attic, I put a snake camera up the vent line from the attic, and the roof exit mesh is still completely covered in lint. A photo is attached. The small amount of light visible is only there because I scraped some of the lint away with my fingers.
The quoted work, cleaning the full line to the roof exit and testing the vent, was not completed. The way they "tested" is turned on the dryer for like a few minutes and called it "tested". The dryer complains about airways being blocked after running for like 30 mins.
Explained everything to them and they would only give me 50% refund. Saying that they can have their tech call me and tell me what they did. I'm not sure how that would change the fact that I'm left the problem with the same exact state before they even started.
Net result: I paid about $170 and still have the same problem I reached out for.

We're sorry the dryer is still showing an error, but some important facts are missing from this review. Our technician checked the attic because he needed to confirm where the vent actually exits before cleaning it. That was never meant as an argument; it was part of doing the job correctly. The line was cleaned, and we have before and after photos of the work. When you contacted us about the error, we offered to send a technician back at no charge to check the roof exit and confirm whether any lint was still there. You refused that visit and told us not to come back. We still gave you a 50% refund without being able to inspect the vent again. Our offer to return and check the exit still stands, and you can call us directly or email us at sales@blueguard.ca
